About the Department

Hope Fire Co. proudly protects approximately 6,000 people living in an area of 15 square miles. We operate out of 1 station located in the northern end of Northern Cambria Borough and protect primarily a residential area.

Our department is a non-profit department whose members are on a volunteer status. We have a ISO rating of 4.

Hope Fire Company was chartered on June 9, 1909. The current Fire Station was constructed in 1956 at the corner of Philadelphia Avenue and 11th Street.
Initial fire protection was furnished be two-wheel hand drawn carts.

Hope has kept abreast of its building progress by adding and replacing apparatus and equipment as necessary for adequate and efficient fire and rescue protection..

Our primary coverage area consists of the northern part of Northern Cambria Borough, parts of Susquehanna Twp., including the villages of Emeigh and Allport.

Why Hope Fire Company?

Hope Fire Co. is a busy department that averages over 200 incidents a year with the number growing.

Members not only provide fire and rescue service but also are trained in Rapid Intervention and currently assist 15 departments in a 3 county area dedicated solely to the search and rescue of other firefighters in distress.

Quick Response Service (QRS) QRS was formed to help the citizens of our coverage area and surrounding areas get medical aid faster. It not only helps our citizens but helps the EMS agencies as well by having medically qualified personnel on scene to provide care for a better patient outcome.

Members also train and assist the Cambria County HAZMAT team with Decon at hazardous material incidents.

Members work fundraisers, provide fire prevention classes to students, business’s and the people of the community, participate in parades and assist with community functions.
